ICT
Duara Foundation supports the dynamic Maji Mazuri ICT program, the first diploma ICT course in the Mathare ghetto.
In order to bridge the divide that keeps youth from being qualified in the modern job market and prevents them from having a voice in global matters that impact their life, Maji Mazuri aims to close the IT and education gap between Mathare Valley and more affluent communities. It hopes to achieve this by providing 140 youth with ICT training annually.
Market analysts anticipate that in the next two to three years, technology companies in Kenya will be looking to hire a lot of technically qualified graduates. Maji Mazuri is currently developing an employment agency to prepare graduates to enter traineeships and tap into the new opportunities that will hopefully become available in the job market.
