DUARA Foundation
DUARA Foundation was started in 2003 by a group of Dutch researchers and practitioners who teamed up with Kenyan activists from several Nairobi ghettos. Since its onset, the Dutch section has worked pro bono to ensure that 100% of all the funds raised go directly to support our activities in Kenya.
For more than a decade now, DUARA brings together academics, policy makers, practitioners and activists from The Netherlands and Kenya to promote conflict resolution, community-led development and human rights approaches to security in Kenyan ghettos.
It assists local stakeholders (young activists, NGOs, CSOs, CBOs and ‘informal’ groups such as women groups, gangs and elders) in achieving a more gender sensitive, inclusive and effective approach to peace building, political participation, economic development and social justice.
We can provide more information upon request about our financial statements and our activities – such as academic research, organizational and project support, policy recommendations and advocacy.
